What is the best diet for achieving your goals, maintaining the results AND feeling good?
I don’t know about you, but even I have tried my fair share of diets in an attempt to find the best diet. I’ve tried going plant-based. I’ve attempted being paleo. I unintentionally ate a super low carb for a while. I’ve counted my calories and tracked my macros. I haven’t tried everything but I’ve tried a lot.
One day I realised something that completely changed my entire mindset around this topic and led to me finding the absolute PERFECT diet/way of eating to reach my goals and make me feel really good all the time.
This way of eating worked when I was trying to reduce body fat and get abs. It’s working for me right now as I try to put on muscle and gain strength. And the more I think about this topic and this way of eating, the more I feel the need to share it.
So if you want a diet that will help you achieve your goals, make you feel happy, energise you, and so many other amazing things, then here we go.
Here is the diet:
The best diet to achieve all of the above-mentioned benefits is; eating in a way that works best for YOU.
Don’t hate me, just listen. I am so passionate about this because it’s so true.
How many people do you know or see on social media every single day talking about how amazing their diet is? How they have found the best diet and all other diets or ways of eating are irrelevant.
Jenny lost 10kg from following the Keto diet. Amber is plant-based and is always so energised. Ashley tracks her macros and her muscles are popping.
If there seriously was one way of eating that worked, why are all these people seeing the results they want? Because there is no one way of eating. There just isn’t.
What works for one person may not work for another.
And it’s not because they didn’t try hard enough or because they’re lazy or because of any of the other “reasons” people rant about. It’s because they’re different, they have different lifestyles, they have different bodies.
Being plant-based works for some people. It doesn’t work for me. There’s no way around it, it just doesn’t work. But that doesn’t mean it won’t work for you.
If that doesn’t convince you, then think about it this way.
If you take into account all the facts presented by people on these different diets, you literally can’t eat anything. Let’s take sources of protein for example.
Plant-based eaters claim that meat is bad for you. I do agree that too much meat in the diet isn’t good, but that’s just my opinion. So plant-based eaters consume, among many other things, tofu and beans as their source of protein.
People on the paleo diet will tell you that eating beans, namely chickpeas, are bad for you. People who eat meat may say that soy is bad for you. People say you shouldn’t eat tuna. There literally is no winning.
I know people who are very passionate about their particular ways of eating would get offended by this, but there really is no one way of eating.
You need to eat in a way that is good for your body, gives you energy and helps you reach your goals.
That’s the best diet. You don’t need to follow a particular diet. You don’t need to stop or start eating something because someone said so. That’s their opinion based on their experiences and their perspective on life.
When I realised this, it literally changed everything.
You get so tired of going from diet to diet and having to eat food you don’t like.
My diet consists of natural whole foods. Some meals are plant-based, some contain meat. I eat canned tuna and chickpeas, and I won’t go near tofu. I can’t stand dairy and sugar is just gross. I alter the amount I eat depending on my goals without tracking my calories.
It works really fricken well for me. It probably doesn’t work for you. And that’s okay!
You do you.
Stop listening to other people. Do your own research. Find your own way of eating that makes you feel and look the way you want. If it’s a set diet, great. If it starts as a set diet that goes through a tweaking process, awesome. If its just some random thing that makes sense to you and no-one else, then that’s amazing. Do you.
